Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan is a native of in and raised from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother has been a backup singer in the past at Philadelphia International Records. When she was five years old, young, her father got in the role of curator of City's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the mansion's historical site. In 2005 she graduated from Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in the class of a vocal music major. Sullivan performed as the contralto for the youth choir, and in the years later she joined in the adults choir. The exposure Sullivan had to secular music was at first limited "I performed solo at the church, and I was asked to go on an gospel label when I was 11, but I was not ready to do that," she recalls. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I was allowed to perform "Accept what God allows" on the show Showtime At the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday celebration at thirteen. Sullivan, at age 15 began her career with Jive Records. The label recorded her an entire album. However, it was never released. Sullivan was later dismissed by the label. Missy Elliott was her producer for several tracks on her debut album. The track "Backstabbers" performed by Timbaland that Elliott created, is the one of the highlights of their collaboration.
